JANUARY 2022 UPDATE

We have prepared our hotel so we can continue to offer you a safe service, protecting our staff and customers.

Since Monday 17th May 2021 we have been allowed to fully re-open our hotel and are now accepting bookings. Despite restrictions entering the UK over winter 2021 due to Omicron, Oxford is still open to all visitors.  Should travel restrictions change at short notice, our late notice cancellation policy means you are welcome to adjust the booking closer to your travel time if necessary.

We have put extra measures in place to ensure safe distancing, including clear screens at reception, one-way routes on stairs where possible, with hand sanitiser and masks available to staff and guests.  We have changed our check-in procedure to ensure staff interaction is kept to a minimum. 

In the bedrooms, we have reduced occupancy, airing rooms between guests while extra deep cleaning is carried out, including changing mattress protector, pillow protectors, while the bed linen is laundered by a professional company as usual.  All areas are thoroughly cleaned with special attention to all touch-points in the room and bathroom.

In the River Restaurant, overlooking the garden leading down to the River Thames, our restaurant tables have been suitably spaced apart, while we shall provide our usual buffet and freshly cooked breakfast with extra precautions.  We do not offer other meals, however there are some excellent independent restaurants in the local area which we can recommend all of which have recently re-opened with extra safety measures in place.

We have been assessed by VisitEngland and received COVID-19 Industry Standard accreditation
COVID-19 Industry Standard In Partnership with The National Tourist Organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  In recognition that the River Hotel Limited has confirmed that they have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing.
